WE WISH YOU A HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS 2017 LET’S SPEND SOME PRODUCTIVE TIME FISHING TOGETHER

FEBRUARY 13, 2017 FISHING NEWS WINTER STEELHEAD, SPRING KING SALMON & STURGEON

We have good news on the fishing front for you.  Triggered by the high water from the last storm the late winter steelhead are showing in increasing numbers every day in the Cowlitz and Lewis Rivers. Our clients are taking home nice fish from the Cowlitz daily and this should turn into full limits for everyone quickly.  Now through the middle of April is prime time for those big hard fighting fish.  The Lewis River is very good fishing right now.  Our clients are landing eight or ten big nice steelhead every day there.  Most of the fish on the Lewis have fins and must be released.  The fishing pressure is light and you can have a great time while releasing them unharmed.  The Springers are just beginning to show up.  By the first of March in the Cowlitz you will be able to do some Steelhead/ Springer combo trips.  By the middle of March the Columbia River starts producing some good catches of these prime Salmon.  By the last week of March the Springer season will be going full blast.  We start fishing Springers at the head of the estuary and follow the main run clear up to the John Day Dam.  We keep our clients on the fish throughout the entire season.  Drano Lake is one of our good producers.  You should make your Springer reservations soon to get the days of your choice. There is a good possibility of a Keeper Sturgeon season this year.  Call me and get on the list.  If it happens you will be first in line. 360-880-0409 Let’s go fishing!
