WELCOME TO CLANCYS GUIDED SPORTFISHING BLOG ON FALL KING & COHO SALMON FISHING IN THE COWLITZ, LEWIS & CHEHALIS RIVERS

We started our salmon fishing in the Cowlitz & Lewis Rivers in September.  These runs of fish are being fed by the outstanding runs returning up the Columbia River.  The King fishing in both of these rivers has been good.  The Lewis River King fishing has been great. Our clients have been having ten to twenty fish days in each boat consistently.  A typical day would be limits for all & six or eight jacks as a bonus.  You can keep all kings in the Lewis this year.  The Coho fishing started slow.  In the last ten days on the Cowlitz  the Coho fishing has been good with nice bright fish.  The run of big late season silvers have started to arrive.  Lots of good fishing ahead for us this fall.

FISHING TIP OF THE DAY

Try the EDGE RODS by Gary Loomis & Jon Bial that Ron & I helped design.  They are amazingly strong, yet very light & super sensitive.  A total pleasure to fish with.  These EDGE RODS raise our daily catches by over 20 %.  If you want to feel more bites & land more fish give them a try.
